Bruin Football Varsity Warriors
A Varsity Warrior is a defensive award which is earned by the players.
Varsity Warriors can be identified on the football field by the “V” on
the back of the player’s helmet. A Bruin football player must achieve the
following to become a Varisty Warrior:
MUST BE A DEFENSIVE STARTER
AND THE FOLLOWING MUST BE ACCOMPLISHED:
- Have two turnovers in one game
- Have four turnovers in one season
- Make fifteen tackles in one game
- Make forty tackles in one season
- Have two quarterback sacks in one game
- Have four quarterback sacks in one season
- Score a defensive touchdown
- Tackle an opposing player for a safety
- *Any player who blocks a punt or PAT (*does not have to
be a starter)
To maintain the "V" on the back of the player’s helmet, he must
practice hard everyday for the rest of the year that he is a Varsity
Warrior.
